Ironically, a friend and fellow Substacker wrote an interesting piece on Boketto - the art of gazing into the distance without really thinking about anything specific. Maybe you and your readers would like to read her article too https://yogaforms.substack.com/p/bring-boketto-back-into-your-life
Actually quite nice...I was going to leave a comment about my time journey earlier, but I didn't want to litter your feed with my progress reports. On the other hand, it is a great accountability tool...
After 30 minutes today and lots of thought-hopping, I settled into a more concentrated and relaxed phase - a focused journey that went deep into my intentions. I felt more mindful and meditative than when I meditate.
I meditate daily...or very nearly daily. My sessions usually run for about 20 minutes. I'm finding this method of sitting with my thoughts stimulating - perhaps I was in a rut with my own practice.
Today was quite different in relation to the first 2 days. I felt the onset of a cold brewing, making my mind turn negative for most of my hour. During the last 15 minutes, I decided to embrace my growing negativity rather than fight it. Once I made this decision, I realized how ridiculous my negative thoughts were and witnessed them slowly move away from me like a lost balloon. Physically, I still feel the cold/flu brewing...although now I feel I have opened my body enough to allow natural healing to take place.
Here's a substack chat thread for accountability. You need the substack app for that: https://open.substack.com/chat/posts/8fa743c1-bf55-4ea8-926e-4237ffd48a4c?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android
See you there!

Very interesting ... curious to try this now!
Let me know how it goes James. I think long contemplative moments would suit you:)
Sitting quietly with my thoughts - a wonderful idea. I shall join you as often as possible 😊
Having to do it for only 30 days makes it easier for me to stick to it. I wish you luck!
Day one is complete!
How was it?
Day 2 👍

I'm so glad Jack! Don't worry about the feed.
What you described is exactly it:) Do you meditate on a usual basis?

Day 3 is now in the books...

How are your sessions going, Jo?
Thank you, Jo! Wishing you a wonderful year ahead!
Jolene! Have a year full of joyfulness and hot sauce!
Best in the new year, Jo!
Happy happy New year old friend!
Absolutely love this. Especially because there’s no meditative breathing chakra spiritual wisdom associated with it. Just sit, baby. I can dig it.
Yes! No mantras no breathwork. And not forever and ever. Just for one month. Will you take the bait?
